Zapier is an automation platform that connects thousands of apps and services together without needing to write any code. It works by creating “Zaps”: automated workflows where a trigger event in one app causes an action in another. For website owners and marketers, Zapier can eliminate hours of repetitive manual work.
How Zapier Works
You set up a Zap by choosing a trigger (“When a new subscriber joins my Mailchimp list”) and an action (“Add them as a contact in my CRM”). Zapier watches for the trigger and automatically runs the action every time it fires.
Useful Zapier Workflows for WordPress Sites
- New blog post published in WordPress sends a tweet and a Facebook post automatically
- New WooCommerce order creates a row in a Google Sheet
- New contact form submission (Gravity Forms, WPForms) creates a task in Trello or Asana
- New email subscriber gets added to your Google Sheets CRM
- New YouTube video publishes to your WordPress blog as a post
Zapier and WordPress
Zapier has a native WordPress integration. You can trigger Zaps when new posts are published, and create or update WordPress posts from other apps. This is especially useful for content repurposing and multi-channel distribution workflows.
