RSS Feed

An RSS feed (Really Simple Syndication) is a web feed format that lets users and applications subscribe to your website’s content updates. When you publish new content, it automatically appears in any RSS reader or application subscribed to your feed. WordPress generates an RSS feed for your site by default.

Who Uses RSS Feeds?

  • Readers who follow multiple blogs using RSS readers like Feedly or Inoreader
  • Podcast apps that sync new episodes automatically
  • Tools that pull content for newsletters, social media schedulers, or aggregators
  • Other websites that syndicate your content

Your WordPress RSS Feed URL

Your default RSS feed is located at yourdomain.com/feed/. You can customize what appears in your feed (full post vs excerpt) from Settings > Reading in your WordPress dashboard.

RSS for Marketing Automation

Many email platforms (including Mailchimp and ConvertKit) can pull from your RSS feed to automatically send newsletters when you publish new posts. This is called an RSS-to-email campaign and saves you from manually sending updates each time.
